One of the most awaited features of the iPad is its eBook reader. Apple has created an application famously known as the iBook which enables users to create their own virtual bookshelf and purchase eBooks with the help of its built-in iBookstore. However, due to iBookstore’s higher price range (about $12.99-$14.99 per book while some other store sells it for $9.99 only), users are frantically looking for some other options or sites where they can purchase ipad ebooks for less.

Worries were eventually taken away after learning that Apple chose to use the EPUB format. An EPUB is a file format similar to MS Word’s DOC and Adobe’s PDF. EPUB, however, is free and standardized type of file format. It is universal in a way that almost every eBook reader can understand such file. One big exception to the list of eReaders is Amazon’s Kindle. You have to convert the file that can be understood by Kindle first before you are able to read it.
